Overview

The Network of National Volunteer Involving Organizations (NNVIO)
brings together individuals in national-level positions of volunteer development in non-profit organizations with pan-Canadian mandates. Since 2001, the members of this group have strived for innovation and excellence in volunteerism and volunteer programs across Canada through mutual support, information exchange and collaboration.

Overall Goals

• To advance networks and build relationships;
• To provide a forum for information sharing and support;
• To strengthen volunteerism and the effective management of volunteer programs;
  
• To be recognized as having a role of influence in the voluntary sector.

Activities

NNVIO members engage in activities that enhance connections and help build their capacity to be leaders in volunteer development at the national level. Past and current activities include the following:

• the NNVIO extranet—an online forum for exchange and discussion;
• professional development activities;
• case studies and problem-solving exercises;
• meetings and conferences;
• advice and input in the development of Volunteer Canada print resources.
