Your Connection to Canada’s Volunteering Community

Government Relations

Volunteer Canada works with governments to promote volunteering.

We work with federal government departments and we liaise with provincial and territorial programs that request our support. We provide information, research and advice and participate in consultations and advisory committees. Much of our government relations work focuses on strengthening volunteering, engaging citizens and building resilient communities.

Our team works with governments to:

  • Discuss issues
  • Draft briefs
  • Present our work
  • Share our vision
  • Promote social policy
  • And more

The goal is to support Canadians in building resilient communities.

Current themes in government relations

  • Social inclusion
  • Skills development
