Volunteering and Participation in 2SLGBTQIA+ Communities

Threads of Us: Volunteerism is about more than just “giving back.” It’s about creating spaces of belonging, taking collective action, and addressing systemic gaps with compassion, creativity, and resilience.

For 2SLGBTQIA+ communities across Canada, volunteers have long been at the heart of this work. They preserve queer histories, advocate for trans justice, sustain chosen family networks, and lead mutual aid efforts. As communities across the country celebrate Pride, this collection provides a snapshot of these contributions.
